Dystopian Weekends is here!

Dystopian Weekends is finally here!

My friends, An album that was started in March 2020 at the edge of the Global Covid Pandemic “Dystopian Weekends” Is now available. The reception has been beautiful so far

“AUK favourite Leeroy Stagger’s superb new release sets out a totally winning argument for the value of love over money.” Americana UK

“Leeroy Stagger sounds like what I imagine the Grateful Dead would be with Jason Isbell fronting them. ‘More Love Than Money’ is a groove and a mood, but the writing delivers more emotion than you’d expect from such a fun and light melody. A song that makes you want to shout amen as you sing along and feel every word.” LA on Lock

I have laboured over this one and have even remixed it halfway through production. Ugh! I’m glad I did though and Graham Lessard did a fantastic job on the final mix!

We also had our friend John Greenham master it, Twice! (Because It was mixed twice) Oh brother! John went easy on me. Thank you John!!

After “Strange Path” I really desired to make an album for myself. A selfish esque outing maybe? I don’t know, but I was really into 60’s and 70’s era Dylan Records and though I didn’t go there all out, you can feel the essence in there for sure. I also decided to work outside my band The Rebeltone Sound except for Ryland Moranz. The band seemed to be a little burnt out after 4 years of heavy touring. I didnt stray too far from the family though. Scott Smith, a long time collaborator of mine in the Cariboo Express played guitar and Pedal Steel, Leon Power is the wizard on the drums, Matt Kelly played all the amazing Organ parts, My good buddy Erik Neilson played the bass very well, Ryland Moranz Played Mandolin and Harmony Vocals, Jodi Peck sang harmonies as well and my old friend Kendall Carson played a bit of fiddle on the record as well. All of it was lovingly recorded by John Raham at afterlife Studios in Vancouver B.C.

Listen to it on all your favourite platforms, If you want to support us digitally please consider purchasing from Bandcamp here

Physical Merch is on the way and will be up in the store in the next few weeks, feel free to order the CD or pre order the Vinyl here

If you dig this record, please shout it from your social media mountain tops! (or just tell a friend, lol) without touring I rely on you guys to spread the word.

Miss you all, hopefully see you soon.

Stay safe and be kind.
